I consider my life an ongoing exploration and adventure.
I respect knowledge, learning, and discipline.
I'm happily enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, widely regarded as the designation of excellence in the investment community.
I have a commercial pilot's license, which was what I saw as my first step towards becoming an astronaut (maybe some day!).
I have a PhD from the University of Waterloo in the field of satellite remote sensing. Specifically, I used spatial statistics and spectroscopy to analyze change in coral reef health from space (included tough field research in Fiji and Indonesia for months at a time-oh, the memories!)
I value public service and frank, open communication
One of the best life experiences I've had so far is as a Vancouver Park Board Commissioner. Every step of the way was a wonderful learning experience: from running an election campaign to communicating with diverse members of the public.
I am devoted to volunteering-I love being a part of important efforts such as The Nature Trust of BC, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and political campaigns, among others.
I have a global perspective.
Working as a Professor at the National University of Singapore and doing field research in places such as Fiji, Indonesia and Malaysia taught me great appreciation for diversity of opinions and approaches.
There are tremendous global investing opportunities available, and I am always looking out for the best options
I appreciate hard work, having fun and enjoying life.
Sports have been a big part of my life-I was a competitive gymnast in Ontario for years, then a varsity rower, sometimes a triathlete, always a runner and forever a yogi.
My husband, friends and family, dog, and Little Sister fill my life with smiles.
